Your device’s complete input range must cover the local nominal supply. A mismatch can damage equipment or create a hazard.

FREQUENCY

Alternating current rate

50 Hz and 60 Hz are not interchangeable for every device. A transformer does not normally change frequency.

What does 100–240V · 50/60Hz mean?

It means the manufacturer rated that device or power supply for inputs from 100 through 240 volts and for both common mains frequencies. You may still need a plug adapter.

Voltage-conversion equipment

If voltage does not match, an appropriate converter or transformer would have to supply the voltage your device requires and handle its actual power. Heating appliances, motors, timing-sensitive and electronically controlled equipment need particular care. This checker does not recommend converter capacity.

Plug/socket systems standardized by national standards are catalogued in IEC/TR 60083. Adapter and dual-voltage explanations are cross-checked against Electrical Safety First guidance.

For destinations with multiple published voltages or frequencies, a safe verdict requires the device to cover every listed value. Socket letters are compared exactly; listed socket types are not assumed to accept one another.

Limit: This tool compares the ratings you enter with published nominal supply information. It cannot inspect your device, adapter, outlet, grounding, wiring, or local installation. Check the manufacturer’s instructions and local requirements when uncertain.
